Residents across Charnwood are being invited to take part in the borough council’s great tree giveaway.

The Council is working alongside its open spaces partner idverde will be handing the saplings to residents, community groups and parish councils.

Cllr Louise Jones, Lead Member for Climate Action and Net Zero said: “The Council’s previous tree giveaways have been popular, and I hope this year will be no different. With a range of varieties available, residents can either choose to plant a single tree or grow a hedgerow.

“Trees bring a range of positive benefits to the environment and residents will be helping to make Charnwood even greener by planting a tree at home.”
