Leicestershire County Councils ‘Hedgerow Identification & Management’ workshop this Sunday 4th June 2023, organised as part of the county council’s urban verge wildlife scheme.

Leicestershire County Councils ‘Hedgerow Identification & Management’ workshop this Sunday 4th June 2023, organised as part of the county council’s urban verge wildlife scheme.

The workshop is being led by county recorders David Nicholls and Russell Parry on behalf of our project partners at NatureSpot and is entirely FREE! Funded as part of the verge project to help train, educate and upskill volunteers and the wider community in verge wildlife. Whilst priority will be given to parish volunteers with verges in the scheme (new and old) we are also extending the invite to any wider volunteers, tree wardens or interested residents who would like to learn more about hedgerow ID as this is a fantastic opportunity.

Currently they have had few bookings which is a real shame, therefore they would strongly encourage any local verge volunteers, or interested residents attend the session if possible, and any of the upcoming future workshops. The idea of these workshops is to help with future management and survey of important habitats and associated grassland habitat and species. Participants may join on the day without booking.

The session will take place at 2pm, Sunday 4th June, meet at Burroughs Road/Main Street, Ratby, SK51140588
