Appeal for new independent member of councillor expenses panel
Charnwood Borough Council is looking for a new person to join the Independent Remuneration Panel which reviews and makes recommendations on the allowances and expenses paid to its councillors every year.
Members of the panel are appointed for a term of four years and can be on the panel for a maximum of two terms.
The panel usually meets two or three times each year.
Those interested in applying should either live or work in the borough of Charnwood and should not be members of any political party or have any close connections or relationships with any councillors on the borough council.
There is an annual allowance of £200 to cover expenses.
If you would like to apply for the role, please submit an expression of interest by Monday July 31, 2023 setting out in no more than 500 words why you are interested in joining the panel and how you feel you would be suitable for the role.
