Mayor of Charnwood’s Christmas card competition

A competition is being held to find artwork that will become the Mayor of Charnwood’s Christmas card for 2022.

Children aged 11 and under and living in Charnwood can enter the competition.

Entrants have total creative freedom as long as the design is Christmas themed, and by entering the winner is agreeing that the artwork can become the Mayor’s Christmas Card for 2022.

Guidelines for entry:

The piece must be the child’s own work.
The design should be on A4 paper, with a 10mm border.
Any media can be used, but no glitter or other embellishments.
Entries should be sent to: Mayor’s Office, Charnwood Borough Council, Southfield Road, Loughborough, Leicestershire, LE11 2TX, and should state the artist’s full name and age, along with the contact details for a parent/guardian (phone and email).

Deadline for entries is Friday October 28, 2022.

The Mayor will judge all entries the week commencing Monday October 31. The winners’ parent/guardian will be contacted before printing commences. Distribution to the Mayor’s colleagues and associates will be from the week commencing Monday December 5.

The winner will receive:

A framed copy of the Christmas Card along with the original entry
A £50 gift token
A presentation for the winner and their family in the Mayor’s Parlour
A number of highly commended entries will be displayed at Loughborough Town Hall throughout December.

The Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor Jennifer Tillotson, said: “Children have such creativity and imagination, so I am excited to see the entries and can’t wait to look through them.

“I’m sure there are going to be some amazing designs and my job of picking a winner will be very difficult.

“Best of luck to everyone who enters.”
